Do We Really Know What It Means?

Hey!

I wanna to talk about songs and meanings! Now, sometimes with can see the picture but not see it real clear, like it's blurry!We think we see cows, when were really seeing chickens! haha Well, songs are the same way! We hear the song, and "think" we know what the meaning is, but sometimes we really don't! Also the artist or band might say it means this or this. Well, they probably do know the meaning, because they wrote the song, but sometimes we think and sometimes know that that is not the real the meaning, once you actually read the lyrics or see the music video!

I'll give you a really good example. Miley Cyrus came out with a new song called "Can't Be Tamed" and with that, a music video. Miley doesn't want people to get the impression, but the music video and song is giving us the wrong impression!

Pluggedinonline says, "This song and it's accompanying are everything Hannah Montana isn't." I agree!

But Miley disagrees, saying,"I wanted it to be different for the female artist." She told Ryan Seacrest. "That it's not just about, 'Oh I have to stand here and do the whole sex thing the whole time and that be what it's about. That's not what this video is about at all. It's about the creativity...It's about the core you know, I don't want to be in a cage. I want to be free and do what I love."

Well Pluggedinonline says, "So now we know what she loves. And what she'd like her flock of fans to love, too."

She says it's not about the whole sex thing, it's about what I wanna do and love, but the lyrics are saying something else.

Miley says, "I'm like a puzzle but all my pieces are jagged/if you can understand this/we can make some magic/I'm on like that." She also says, "I go through guys like money/...They try to change me/ but they know they can't/...If you're gonna be my man/understand/I can't be tamed."

Hmmm...doesn't sound like wanting to do what I love, unless she loves not being tamed and having guys? Interesting...

Now, I hope that was a good example!

If you don't know what the meaning is, or if you listen to a interview, like Miley's, well, I suggest to read the lyrics first. So you won't say when you're watching the interview, "Oh! That is what it means!!! haha...I thought it meant something else!!"
